Carbon Reduction Manager

Role Overview:

Our client, a global leader in sustainability and environmental performance, is seeking a Carbon Reduction Manager to lead the development and implementation of decarbonisation strategies across operations, supply chains, and assets. This role is critical in helping organisations meet their net-zero targets and align with global climate frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver carbon reduction strategies aligned with science-based targets and net-zero pathways
  • Conduct carbon footprint assessments (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) and identify emissions hotspots
  • Lead the implementation of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and low-carbon technology projects
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sustainability teams to embed carbon reduction into business processes
  • Monitor and report progress against carbon targets using recognized frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, SBTi)
  • Support climate-related disclosures and ESG reporting (e.g., TCFD, ISSB, CSRD)
  • Engage with stakeholders to drive awareness, training, and behavioural change

Essential Experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in carbon management, sustainability consulting, or environmental strategy
  • Strong knowledge of carbon accounting standards, emissions reduction technologies, and climate policy
  • Proficiency in carbon management tools and platforms (e.g., SimaPro, CRREM, GHG calculators)
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable:

  • Experience with supply chain decarbonisation, LCA, or circular economy initiatives
    Familiarity with ESG ratings, climate risk assessments, and green finance frameworks
  • Certifications such as ISO 14064, GHG Inventory Quantifier, or Carbon Trust Standard
