Climate Change Consultant (Renewable Energy)

Role Overview:

Our client, a global renewable energy and sustainability advisory firm, is seeking a Climate Change Consultant to support climate risk assessments, decarbonisation strategies, and climate-related disclosures across a portfolio of clean energy projects. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong analytical background and a passion for climate resilience and policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct climate risk and vulnerability assessments for renewable energy assets
  • Develop decarbonization pathways and net-zero strategies for clients
  • Support climate scenario analysis aligned with TCFD, ISSB, and SBTi frameworks
  • Analyse GHG emissions data and support carbon accounting and reporting
  • Advise on climate adaptation and resilience planning
  • Collaborate with ESG, engineering, and sustainability teams to integrate climate considerations into project design and operations

Essential Experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Sustainability, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in climate change consulting, sustainability, or ESG
  • Strong understanding of climate science, policy, and disclosure frameworks
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, GIS, climate modelling platforms)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or financial services
  • Familiarity with CDP, GRESB, and climate risk tools (e.g., CRREM, PCAF)
  • Certifications such as CFA ESG, TCFD, or GHG Protocol
