Role Overview:

Our client, a global leader in clean energy innovation, is seeking a Battery Storage Engineer to support the design, integration, and deployment of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). This role is critical in enabling grid flexibility, renewable integration, and decarbonisation of power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and engineer battery storage systems (lithium-ion, flow, hybrid)
• Conduct feasibility studies, sizing, and performance modeling
• Integrate BESS with renewable energy assets and grid infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with safety, electrical, and fire protection standards
• Collaborate with OEMs, EPCs, and internal engineering teams
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of BESS installations

Essential Experience:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in battery storage or power systems engineering
• Familiarity with BESS technologies, inverters, and EMS/SCADA systems
• Proficiency in modeling tools (e.g., HOMER, MATLAB, PSCAD, PVSyst)
• Strong understanding of grid codes, interconnection, and safety standards

Desirable:

• Experience with hybrid systems (solar + storage, wind + storage)
• Knowledge of fire safety and thermal management in BESS
• Certifications in battery safety or energy storage systems
