Role Overview:

Our client, a leading consultancy in sustainable building design and energy performance, is seeking a Building Energy Analyst to support the modelling, analysis, and optimisation of energy use in buildings. This role is essential in helping clients achieve energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and carbon reduction goals through data-driven insights and simulation tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct energy modeling and simulation for new and existing buildings using industry-standard tools
• Analyse building performance data to identify energy-saving opportunities and operational improvements
• Support compliance with energy codes and certifications (e.g., Part L, ASHRAE, LEED, BREEAM)
• Prepare technical reports, energy assessments, and client presentations
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and sustainability consultants on integrated design solutions
• Contribute to net-zero carbon strategies and decarbonisation roadmaps
• Stay up to date with building regulations, energy standards, and modelling best practices

Essential Experience:

• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Energy Systems, Architecture, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in building energy modelling or performance analysis
• Proficiency in simulation tools such as IES VE, DesignBuilder, EnergyPlus, or eQuest
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
• Familiarity with HVAC systems, building envelopes, and renewable integration

Desirable:

• Experience with dynamic thermal modelling, daylight analysis, or CFD
• Knowledge of building automation systems and smart energy technologies
• Certifications such as CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant, LEED AP, or BREEAM Assessor
