Solar Design and Proposal Engineer

Client: A rapidly expanding commercial solar installer focused on rooftop installations for businesses across the UK.

Location: Manachester

Responsibilities:

• Design commercial solar PV systems using PVSyst, Helioscope, or similar software, considering UK grid connection regulations and planning permissions.
• Conduct detailed site surveys to assess roof suitability, shading analysis, and potential structural considerations.   
• Develop accurate energy production models and financial analyses, incorporating UK specific incentives and tariffs like the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG).
• Create compelling proposals and presentations tailored to business clients, highlighting return on investment and sustainability benefits.
• Collaborate with installation teams to ensure smooth project execution and compliance with UK health and safety standards.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial solar design in the UK.
• Proficiency in PVSyst, Helioscope, or similar design software with knowledge of UK specific modules and databases.
• Strong understanding of UK grid connection regulations (G99/G100) and planning permission processes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.
• MCS accreditation is highly desirable.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
